    Just put 7 on my computer from XP. Installed my new video driver and the nvidia control panel has no option to turn on SLI. I can't figure it out. Any thoughts?

    ATI Runs PhysX With Modified Drivers

    source: Tom's Hardware US

    Haifa (Israel) - This one did not take long: We already knew that Nvidia is working on a CUDA version for x86 CPUs, but said it would leave a modification for ATI GPUs to others. Eran Badit of ngohq.com told us that he has done it already and was able to get the Nvidia PhysX layer to run on ATI Radeon cards.

    After playing with Nvidia’s CUDA SDK and PhysX SDK, Eran apparently got the PhysX layer to play along with Radeon cards. He mentioned that enabling PhysX support on Radeon cards is not particularly difficult, leading us to believe that physics on graphics cards may not so much be a technology problem but a game of politics.

    Eran said that he will be offering the ATI PhysX-enabling utility on ngohq.com as soon as he gets his hands on more hardware to check the application on more than one graphics card. We are told that he is testing hardware already, which means that the software should be available "soon".

    On his first run, Eran got a 22,606 CPU score in 3D Mark Vantage, enhancing the overall score to P4262. A comparable system without PhysX-support will cross the finish line at about P3800.

    We are told that there is currently no relationship between ngohq.com and AMD’s PR team, which means that Eran does not have access to Radeon 4850 or 4870 cards. Check the www.ngohq.com website for the software to become available this weekend.

    ATI Optimized Driver 1.7.3

    The ATI Optimized Driver is a modified version of the ATI Catalyst driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with better performance, image quality and compatibility. The ATI Optimized Driver can enhance your experience in games, multimedia and general usage. This project is especially suited for enthusiasts and gamers that want to have the best gaming experience.

    This release is based on ATI Catalyst 7.3 and the main change is the drastic performance improvement in the latest versions of ATI Catalyst Control Center. Because of the improvements, we have decided to include it and the old Control Panel. Users have now the option to choose their own ATI control panel environment. Be advised that Catalyst Control Center requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher to operate.

    The Catalyst Control Center (CCC) is the new control panel from ATI, it has all the regular features and some more advanced features. However, CCC consumes more resources then the old ATI Control Panel. It’s our opinion that the Catalyst Control Center is the best choice overall if you have a medium to high end computer.

    The Control Panel (CP) is the old and famous ATI control panel application. It does not require .NET Framework and it lacks some of the new and advanced features. If your system is low on ram and you feel it may not be powerful enough to use the Catalyst Control Center, then you should find this Control Panel to be a better choice.

    In this release, we also decided to remove ATI Tray Tools from the archive. Why you ask? Well because it is no longer needed in our installer with CCC and the old CP included. Yes! It is a great application, so if you do not have it, we recommend getting it from the link here. Remember to follow our web news as the author is updating it on a regular basis.

    Supported GPUs
    * Radeon 9500-X1950 Series
    * Radeon Mobility Series
    * Radeon IGP (Integrated GPU) Series

    Supported OSes
    * Windows 2000
    * Windows XP
    * Windows 2003
    * Windows Media Center

    Installation
    Please uninstall your previous driver before proceeding with this installation. Please use the ATI Catalyst Uninstall Utility in order to Uninstall your current driver.

    Back to the same stuff I can't get it to run dual cards together. When I get it to run SLI by luck of course it locks up the computer a few minutes later and when I restart it only shows one.

    Are you using the driver that came on the CD with the card or using the newest from Nvidia?

    There was only 1 version of their drivers that I could use with my 7950GX2 when i had it (either it or the MD died and i replaced both to be sure)

    I tried the newest Nvidia drivers at the time and it would lock up on me like you describe.

    The latest installed driver is from guru3d. I'm wondering if it's a BIOS issue. However am to computer dumb to figure out what I need to download. I just know I have P5N-D Windows 7 X64. If anyone can throw it in my face what I need to download that'd be sweet. But everytime I get the option for SLI and enable it it'll run for about 5 minutes then just locks up. Nother screen shot of it showing SLI actually being a option. Everything look alright to you guys on the settings right there?

    Go to the mother board site and check for a bios update for use with Win7.Sounds to me like there's a drivers issue with the onboard controller.As far as Video drivers go I would stick with the latest drivers from Nvidia since your playing BC2(several fixes in those drivers for BC2).

    Never had those issues TooHigh but the guys that I know that did, turned out to have compatibility issues with the drivers and their motherboard chip set.I always stick with the latest drivers and direct from Nvidia.
